Support the Fair Act
The FAIR Act:
Here's a refresher on the issue: Auto insurance companies are barred from considering a customer’s race or income, along with religion and some other factors, when setting insurance rates. Yet, they are allowed to consider education, occupation, and credit score, which are closely tied to both race and income. The FAIR Act aims to prohibit the use of education, occupation, and credit score in auto insurance underwriting.
Stay up to date and share information. Consumer Reports just released a new report examining how auto insurance companies discriminate and penalize drivers based on their job title, and educational background. Read the report here, share it with your friends & family, and tweet about it here!
