>> Last week, Moms Demand Action volunteers gathered at the House of Independents in Asbury Park for “The Power of Art,” an event by CREATE Core Courage. The CREATE Core Courage Mission is to bring attention to the continuing need for social and institutional change by sharing human experience through the unifying and healing language of art. (Special thanks to Cecile Vidican of the Mercer County Moms, whose interactive piece titled Imagine A World Free of Gun Violence was a highlight of the evening.

>> Moms Demand Action is proud to introduce Everystat, the brand new gun violence data website that is now available from Everytown! The site includes a wealth of gun violence data available by state, county, race and ethnicity, gender, and intent. Also available on the site are handy quick reference guides for each state available in PDF format. Data contained in EveryStat comes from federal agencies like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and from the Washington Post’s frequently cited tracking database, Fatal Force.
